For over 50 years, our family has owned and operated Acceptable Storage. Contrary to what our name implies, we aim for – and deliver – excellence. Over the past half century, we have developed quite a few tips and tricks for getting the most out of your storage locker which we are eager to share with you!
Ottawa Storage Locker Organization Solutions
To start with, choose the right storage locker for your needs. We offer a variety of different units ranging from 280 to 2000 cubic feet for unheated units (starting at $40/month), and 114 to 266 cubic feet for heated units (starting at $35/month). We advise our clients to air on the side of caution – it’s better to have too much space than too little. You’re always going to have at least one friend who needs to store something…
Once you have decided on a unit, make a plan! The easiest mistake to make is loading up your storage unit without thinking it through. Take stock of what you will be storing and consider what you will be needing to retrieve most often. A good rule of thumb is to put large appliances and furniture at the back. Whenever possible, use vertical space to store bulky items, such as mattresses and some couches.
Packing Your Ottawa Storage Locker
To save you time and frustration down the road, make sure that everything in your storage locker is labeled and safe! This means putting dust covers on mattresses and some furniture, and getting out your sharpie! Make sure that everything you put in your storage locker is clearly labelled. When you’re loading up your storage unit, ensure that you place boxes so that you can see each and every label. Take time to carefully wrap up breakables. It’s generally safe to assume that you will forget what is in each box, so plan ahead and “clumsy proof” your valuables.
Once you’re ready to pack your storage unit stick to your plan! If you feel so inclined, draw yourself a map. You can leave this map inside your unit so that you can refer to it next time you’re in, and you’ll know right away where to find your skates! It’s a smart idea to make an aisle down the centre of your unit. This way nothing gets buried at the back forcing you to empty the entire unit just to get to a single box! Depending on the size of your unit, you may want to include a series of aisles. Keep seasonal items that you know you’ll need every few months near the front; such as holiday decorations, winter coats, and summer clothes.

Dear Travel-Mor Clients,
Please note that any trailer/RV that is dropped off for service work MUST BE EMPTIED of all personal belongings. This includes floor areas, or any specific areas where we need to complete work (for example: showers/tubs, cabinetry, outside compartments, under bed storage areas, etc.)
If these areas are filled with personal items, we will refuse to work on the trailer until it has been emptied.
